Meet our owner and Director
Born and raised in Miami Florida. She began dancing at the age of 4 for Ballet Etudes of South Florida under the direction of Susana Prieto. Damaris studied Classical Ballet and Flamenco Dancing throughout her career at Etudes. For fifteen consecutive years Damaris performed and continued her training at Ballet Etudes while earning many imperative roles in full length Orchestra Productions of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake & Coppelia, just to name a few. Damaris graduated from the Ballet Etudes Company with her first ballet degree at the age of 15. During this time, she also performed for Sociedad Pro-Arte Grateli and Alba Productions. In 1997, she was nominated and received the ACCA award for best performer of the Pas de Quatre for the production of Swan Lake. In 2002, she continued her dance career by completing & earning a bachelor’s degree of arts in dance from Florida International University. Damaris has taught & choreographed for over 16 years in many local dance studios in the east and west coast from teaching children of all ages through adults including at a competitive level. Damaris has taught all styles of dance such as Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Choreography, and Acrobatics among many others. Damaris began and directed a dance program for North Fort Myers High School Center for Arts & Media in 2005. She lead & prepared students for All County Dance competitions, annual NYC dance workshops & trip experiences, choreographed and instructed annual musicals & indoor/outdoor dance ensemble. Damaris managed a dance studio in Cape Coral Florida for one year before relocating back to the east coast. After starting a family, Damaris began a search to fulfill her lifelong dream of opening and owning her own dance studio. In June 8, 2015, Damaris opened her doors at On Pointe Dance Studio. Today she continues to share her passion of dance through her teaching & students and looks forward to many more memorable and successful years in her career.
